Merry Christmas from #missionaryatheart ❤️ our kids in the Dominican had a special fiesta to celebrate Christmas and they sure had a blast!! Lots of special food and drinks, face painting, music, dancing, games, and just a time to be a kid and escape the violence of living in such poverty...it was a day they will always cherish and a big celebration for Jesus’ birthday! Thankful we have the opportunity to invest in these kids, celebrate Christmas with them, and teach them about the love of Jesus. This is what Christmas is all about!
Joselo Update
Joselo was able to get the surgery he needed in his eye and has started chemo. Unfortunately the doctors found cancer in his other eye as well. Also due to his immune system being suppressed from chemo, he has gotten an awful bacterial infection in his foot that the doctors are currently treating before they continue on with any further surgeries or treatments. We have been able to provide the funds to Joselo and his mom for all of his medical needs so far due to donations from sweet sponsors. Please keep this precious boy and his family in your prayers. They have an incredibly long road ahead of them and need comfort and peace right now.
Giving TUESDAY
It's Giving Tuesday!!! When you give to #missionaryatheart 100% of your donation goes directly towards changing lives! Many of our sponsors say they love #missionaryatheart most because they know EXACTLY where their money is going! Also, donations are tax deductible.
Partner with us and help us bring hope and love to so many precious kids in the Dominican Republic! Poverty and homelessness in a third world country result in unbelievably heartbreaking situations and we are thankful we have the opportunity to invest in these kids lives. However, we cannot do it without YOU!
Interested in making a tax-deductible donation??? Visit: www.dominicankids.com/donate-now/
Acts 20:35 "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Joselo needs our help
Urgent #missionaryatheart need: Meet Joselo. A precious little boy whose older brothers have been coming to our mission house in the Dominican Republic for over 5 years. Joselo has cancer in his eye and his mom came to our mission house today begging for help. He is supposed to have surgery on Friday to put in a glass eye and then start chemo treatments next week. However, his family lives in extreme poverty and doesn’t even have money to cook dinner each night much less pay for medications, surgeries, chemo, and transportation back and forth to Dr appts in the capital.
#Missionaryatheart has had to make some big cutbacks lately due to funding changes so we don’t have any extra funds to be able to help this precious family.
If you want to make a tax-deductible donation towards Joselo and his medical needs so he can get his surgery and treatment, you can send PayPal using this link: https://www.paypal.me/missionaryatheart
If you’re not able to help financially, Joselo needs prayers as well! He is truly traumatized by this entire experience and cries non stop now. Pray for peace and comfort for this sweet baby!
I don’t have an exact amount for how much Joselo needs to cover his expenses right now (in a third world country it’s hard to get exact #’s!) but I can assure you every single penny donated will go directly to Joselo and his medical needs. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus and help this sweet boy!
What you can dO
Yes! We are always changing our plan for what we can and cannot do each month due to what donations we bring in each month for #missionaryatheart! Even though some months mean more or less donations than others, I know God has a plan and we are continuing to make a difference in so many kids lives. If we only help one child each day or month, it is so worth it and I know God will always provide! We would love for you to learn more about #missionaryatheart and get plugged in: www.dominicankids.com/projects
