Sometimes, our mission house is just a safe place where our street kids, like Petete, can come take a nap! #missionaryatheart
Baby Carolan
A few weeks ago, a friend of ours in the Dominican called me in tears. His pregnant wife was hemorrhaging and without the proper medical care his wife and unborn baby were both going to die. They needed to be sent to the Capitol for proper care and needed money to get there. I was able to get them rushed to the doctor by ambulance and after a few days of monitoring the 6 month pregnant wife, the doctors did an emergency c section. A 2lb 1oz baby was born and spend 2 weeks in the NICU. After lots of prayers, mom and baby are both doing great and are now back home in our little town in the Dominican. It is my honor to introduce to you, Baby Carolan! (Caroline in English). And what a blessing it is to have such a sweet friend name his baby after me! #missionaryatheart
Back to School
Thanks to AMAZING friends and supporters, today we were able to make dreams come true! A mom of 5 boys was able to go school supply shopping for all of her kids. We were also able to add a teenage girl to the list that needed supplies because of your donations! Today, we were able to bless 5 boys and 1 teenage girl with everything they needed to start school! 12 pants, 6 pairs of shoes, 12 shirts, 12 pairs of socks, 6 pairs of underwear, 6 backpacks, 26 notebooks, 18 pencils, and 18 pens were purchased today and I could not be more grateful! Look at the smiles on these kids faces! They are so excited to start school Monday! #missionaryatheart
John Carlos
John Carlos, you are going to move mountains one day! In your 5 short years, you've gone through things no one wouldn't imagine. However, you've got a smile that is contagious! I love watching you grow and I'm thankful you get to come hang at the mission house every day while your single mom works so hard in the street market selling plantains to hopefully make just enough money to feed you and your brother dinner each night. #missionaryatheart
Proud of My Kids
I am beyond proud of each and every one of these boys! To some they may look like dirty street kids, but to me, they are incredible blessings full of so much potential! I love seeing each of their personalities unfold! Thankful for each and every one of "my kids"! #missionaryatheart
